Field Mice are not House Mice. Field Mice will enter the home during cold spells for warmth and shelter. Bonus for them if they find you have an accessible food supply meaning they will stay and multiply.
House Mice never leave, Field Mice come and go. It is for this reason we will only trap them or use a rodenticide which will not cause secondary poisoning to birds of prey or other mammals who eat field mice.
The rodenticide we use for Field Mice and for outside Rats is called Selontra, for Rats in burrows we use Harmonix (which is also a Cholecalciferol bait like Selontra) These are licenced products for professional use only and cannot be purchased over the counter or online.
If you purchase your own rodent baits please read the label and act accordingly. Any bait you can buy over the counter will cause secondary poisoning please bear this in mind and Think Wildlife!
